MNP Community and Sport Centre which was initially called Lindsay Park Sports Centre, opened in July 1983 to host the Western Canada Summer Games. The facility was built to accommodate athletes participating in the Western Canada Summer Games and to provide a sports centre legacy for Calgarians into the future. The MNP Centre Expansion and Enhancement features a newly added west expansion housing leisure water amenities, a south expansion supporting additional change rooms, and supportive infrastructure. In addition the facility will upgrade the interior of the existing facilities to align with the new expansion. The MNP Center services 15 communities in downtown Calgary and provides recreation opportunities for users of all types.
